Parkinson's Disease
Exploring drivers of nonmotor dysfunction in neurodegenerative disease
Parkinson’s disease affects more than movement; it can also disrupt motivation, mood, and cognition. Our emerging Parkinson’s disease program investigates how changes in lipid, peptide, and receptor signaling contribute to these behavioral dimensions of neurodegeneration.
We use preclinical behavioral models including motor, affective, and operant cognitive testing to connect molecular changes with functional outcomes. By integrating behavioral phenotyping with LC–MS/MS discovery and receptor pharmacology, we aim to identify biomarkers and druggable pathways that support new therapeutic strategies.
